Player Development Academy training will be the new technical model provided by CDO Soccer Club. We are happy to announce that our Director of Coaching and Academy Director Neil Radley will be running PDA training this year with a focus on base skills, positional specific sessions and technical skills under pressure. All this is a fast paced-game like environment.
PDA Training will run twice a week and will also be offered to teams in lieu of sessions if coaches request it.
We will be looking to provide a competitive arena for our players to thrive in, we will look to group players by ability level and push them to improve and step up level by level.
These will be broad training sessions that enable players to practice a range of skills across multiple exercises.
They will rehearse ball skills in terms of tidy, quick and intelligent passing, plus finishing in and around the box. We will also work on movement, closing down and positional awareness.
These ranges of skills are essential for any footballer. It is important to practice these because the scenarios in which players will need to display these skills occur regularly during games.
This will be a truly fast-paced and challenging program developing and strengthening your players technique of core skills, while also developing more advanced technical skills. Activities will incorporate more advanced combinations and higher pressure situations to challenge your player. Our program will allow players to learn new skills, while placing much emphasis on increasing their proficiency in each skill that they perform. Players will learn to hone their craft. Sportsmanship skills are developed and strongly encouraged.
