2017 CDO Summer Camp!

With the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup around the corner, and qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup also being currently contested, the summer presents many opportunities to watch soccer for kids who love the game. However, watching is not nearly as exciting as playing it of course! This summer, CDO is again proud to offer our summer camp for players looking for some fun and opportunities to improve their abilities.

With the CDO Summer Program running sessions five nights a week from June 19 - June 30, this is a great way to keep kids ages 7-15 active over the summer and “beat the heat.”
Every year our summer program has a theme and this time around it is “FUNdamentals.”

Too often players forsake the most important components of the beautiful game because they appear to be boring when compared to the multitude of YouTube juggling clips, playing FIFA on video game consoles, or watching professionals perform jaw-dropping maneuvers. It is vital that players perfect the basics before attempting techniques which require more complexity and experience. That does not mean it has to be boring, though! We’ll have structured “station training” sessions to help players improve their technical abilities with training methods from around the world included in our professionally designed camp curriculum.

Demand is always high for this camp and spaces are limited, so register now to save money and guarantee your child’s spot!

Inclement Weather Policy

As monsoon season approaches in late June/early July, the weather is something we have no control over. Player safety is our number one priority, so if lightning is anywhere near the field, we stop practice…if it rains without lightning, we just get wet!

We make no apologies for showing caution when it comes to matters of player safety, so if the lightning is deemed to be within 30 seconds (between the flash and the bang), practice will either be suspended or cancelled. No make up dates can be scheduled unfortunately due to limited field availability in the summer.

Weather updates will appear at www.cdosoccer.com if it looks like a storm is in the area, and practice will be cancelled before 5:00pm if the outlook is poor. You can also follow us on Twitter @CDOSoccerClub for up to the minute field status - if you’re about to drive to the field and it starts to look like poor weather, maybe reading a tweet can save you a journey!
